Make your own functional food or drink using beneficial human-specific lactic acid bacteria - mix them into the food or drink
Nordwise® - From science to health™
Nordwise® Make it yourself! a new product has been added to the sourdough series to enrich food and drink with scientifically studied living lactic acid bacteria specific to the human body.
Nordwise® brought a new solution to the market for people who like to prepare acidified and healthy foods themselves.
Nordwise® Make it yourself! the product of the Lactic acid bacteria series for immediate consumption is not used for acidification, but is intended for immediate consumption mixed into food or drink.
Proceed as follows:
Mix one packet (0.5 g) of powder with your favorite drink or meal (200 ml or 200 g).
The temperature of the food used must not exceed 40 °C.
Suitable for example in water, juice, smoothie, exercise drink, yogurt, milk, breakfast cereal, muesli, dip or salad dressings.
The lactic acid bacteria discovered and scientifically studied by BioCC OÜ researchers are used as probiotics.
The lactic acid bacteria developed, clinically studied and patented by the scientists of the Tartu-based biocompetency center BioCC OÜ are isolated from the human body. These lactic acid bacteria have been developed as probiotics and increase the number of good bacteria in the human intestinal microbiota.
A probiotic is a living microbial culture specific to the human body, whose positive effects and mechanisms of action on human health have been confirmed in scientific research.
Lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, which play an important role in human microbiota from early childhood, are the most common probiotics.
Food with added value containing probiotics is called functional food .
Nordwise® Make it yourself! a line of sourdough starters
Make your own! the sourdough series allows people to prepare functional fermented foods with added value at home. Our sourdoughs contain live sourdough lactic acid bacteria to guide the fermentation process and scientifically studied human lactic acid bacteria that add value to the product.
Lactic acid bacteria are found wherever there are favorable growth conditions and enough nutrients (vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins), including in soil, wastewater, plant material, food and in the microbiota of living beings, including humans.
The most well-known lactic acid bacteria are lactobacilli, leuconostocci, pediococci and streptococci. Since bifidobacteria produce lactic and acetic acid, they are also considered lactic acid bacteria.
Food fermentation is an effective and inexpensive way to prevent food spoilage, and fermented foods of both animal and plant origin comprise a significant portion of human diets around the world. Most fermented foods are produced industrially today, but a number of traditional fermented foods (yogurt, sauerkraut, pickles, sourdough bread and bread, etc.) can also be prepared at home.
Lactic acid bacteria can ferment both vegetable (e.g. cabbage and other vegetables) and animal raw materials (e.g. fish, meat, milk). Since the antimicrobial compounds produced by lactic acid bacteria (e.g., organic acids, etc.) act as preservatives, lactic acid bacteria are used as leavening agents to extend the shelf life of products and to improve the texture and taste of food.
Yeast is a culture of lactic acid bacteria used to start and carry out fermentation. The use of a suitable leavening agent is important to obtain a high-quality and expected final product.
As said, the product of the Nordwise® Do-it-yourself series Lactic acid bacteria is not acidified for immediate consumption , but can be consumed immediately by adding it to food or drink. At the same time, the product contains lactic acid bacteria useful for digestion, such as Lactobacillus plantarum INDUCIA®, Lactobacillus plantarum TENSIA® and Bifidobacterium infantis.
